Nellie Frances (Cobb) Hart, age 69

Mrs. Nellie Frances (Cobb) Hart, of 16 Whiting Street, Plainville, was born April 22, 1875 in Watertown, Massachusetts, daughter of Matilda (Lindley) and Civil War veteran Leander Putnam Cobb of Company K, 42nd Mass. Infantry.  Nellie was found critically injured at the circus grounds after the fire on July 6, and admitted to Municipal Hospital for treatment of third degree burns to her arms, legs, face, and 45% of her body.  Despite supportive efforts, Mrs. Hart passed away before dawn, July 25, 1944 at the hospital.  Nellie leaves three sons, Frederick P. Hart, 41, of Plainville;  Joseph F. Hart, 36, of Vermont; and Milton F. Hart, 32, of New Britain; and a brother, Arthur F. Cobb.  She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Hart.  

Nellie Hart was buried at West Cemetery in Plainville, after services at Bailey Funeral Home on July 27.  Mrs. Hart's estate was awarded $4,650 by the arbitration board.
