Went to the circus with her Aunt and two cousins who were visiting from NY. Roslyn's mother was going to go, but she was ill so Rosyln went in her place. Roslyn helped her party escape the burning tent, and went back in to help others. She suffered burns on her feet and complete dehydration, and succumbed to kidney failure after 10 days in the hospital. CFR Roslyn Kruh, 22 year old white female, came to an untimely death at 11:15 pm on July 16, 1944 at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford as a result of 1st and 2nd degree burns of the face, breasts, back, arms and legs sustained when the tent ignited at the circus. Rosyln was admitted to St. Francis Hospital at 3:30 on July 6th, and in spite of supportive treatment ran a down-hill course and expired on July 16. Body delivered to Weinstein for burial.COR |

Elizabeth's husband and children were all hospitalized with injuries sustained during the fire. Mrs. Roberts was born in Eastport, Maine in 1907 and died Friday, July 7, at Municipal Hospital of burns sustained at the circus fire. Elizabeth is buried in Riverton Cemetery in Winsted, CT. She was a teacher at Forde School in Robertsville. |
