Anna (Cangelosi) DiMartino, age 36
Mrs. Anna (Cangelosi) DiMartino, of 60 Barbour Street, Hartford, was born November 27, 1907 in Argentina, daughter of Italian born parents Salvatora (DiMartino)* and Salvatore Cangelosi. She was found dead at the circus grounds after the fire on July 6, and was buried at Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery in Bloomfield after services at the Laraia & Sagarino Funeral Home on July 8. Mrs. DiMartino leaves her husband, Salvatore DiMartino, 41, and eight children: Lucy, 17; John (Jack), 16; Salvatore, Jr., 15; Rose, 13; Lillian, 12; Francesco (Frank), 6; Antoinette, 5; and infant Carol Anne.
Body #2115 was identified as Anna DiMartino at the State Armory by her husband, Salvatore, on July 6. Anna attended the circus with her sister-in-law, Carmela Pistorio, and both were killed; they had planned on taking their children the next day. Mrs. DiMartino's estate was awarded $8,500 by the arbitration board.
Anna DiMartino's granddaughter, Renee (Tetreault) Newell, daughter of Lillian (DiMartino) Tetreault, was a passenger on American Flight 11 which was hijacked and crashed into the North Tower of the World Trade Center in New York City on September 11, 2001, killing all on board.
