William "Billy" Franz, Jr., age 3

William "Billy" Franz, Jr. of 456 West Glenwood Avenue, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, was born December 17, 1940 in Philadelphia, son of Mary (Rester) and Phildelphia native William Franz.  Billy and his mother were found dead at the circus grounds after the fire on July 6, and were buried at St. Mary's Cemetery in South Coventry after services at Killourney Brothers Chapel in Willimantic.  Billy leaves his father, William G. Franz, 34, and his maternal grandparents John and Mary Rester of South Coventry, with whom he was visiting.  His aunts Rose Rester, 27, and Elizabeth Rester, 24, were also victims of the circus fire.  

Body #1531 was identified at the State Armory as William Franz, Jr. on July 7 by his father.  His estate was awarded $6,500 by the arbitration board.
