Nancy Maureen Goulko, age 6
Miss Nancy Maureen Goulko, age 6, of 103 Maplewood Avenue, West Hartford, daughter of Ann (Nelson) and Martin Goulko, was born February 16, 1938 in New York City. Nancy was found dead at the circus grounds after the fire on July 6 with her mother Ann and sister-in-law Elizabeth Goulko who also perished at the scene. Nancy's sister Claire was also a victim of the fire, passing away on August 17, 1944 despite efforts to save her life. Her body was taken to Springfield Cemetery and Crematory in Springfield, MA for cremation.
Body #1523 at the State Armory was identified as Nancy M. Goulko by her father on Friday, July 7. Miss Goulko's estate was awarded $6,500 by the arbitration board. She is survived by her father Martin Goulko and brother Lt. Burton T. Goulko, 24, serving with the 90th Infantry Division, U.S. Army, who would be killed in action August 20, 1944 while fighting with the Allied armies.
