Irene Mary North, age 7
Miss Irene Mary North of 3 Linden Place, Rockville, was born February 25, 1937 in Hartford, daughter of New York born parents Irene (Cook) and Henry T. North. Both Irene and her mother Irene were found dead at the circus grounds after the fire on July 6 and were buried at St. Bernard's Cemetery in Rockville after services at the Burke Funeral Home. Irene leaves her father, and no siblings.
Body #1540 was identified at the State Armory as Miss Irene North by her father on July 7. On the body was found a Gruen wristwatch and a black cord, which was turned over to the coroner's office and determined to have belonged to Minnie Hess, also a victim of the circus fire. Miss North's estate was awarded $7,000 by the arbitration board.
