#2109 (unidentified)
Body #2109 was found dead at the circus grounds after the fire on July 6, taken to the State Armory and then to the Hartford Hospital morgue where positive identification was never made. #2109 was prepared by O'Brien Funeral Home for burial at Northwood Cemetery in Wilson, Connecticut, on July 10.
Descriptive features of #2109 include: white woman, age 30+; 5'-1" to 5'-5" height, weight approximately 148 pounds, small boned and stocky; 22" head circumference, light brown and blonde hair; eyes and teeth burned; hands and fingers burned; lower extremities not burned; hips wide, bust large, hands and wrists small; right rectus scar, approximately 8 years old; wearing pink pants, a heavy laced Spencer corset, and tan rayon socks. Dental examination of #2109 shows gold crowns on left upper lateral incisor and right lateral incisor, and gold filling on right and left side of lower middle incisor.
UPDATE: In October/November 2019, body #2109 was exhumed and selected parts were retained for DNA testing while the rest of the remains were reburied in a new casket. DNA results to follow. Investigators in 2019 described the body as a caucasian woman of European descent, 20-50 years old, approximately 5'-4" tall. The sternum, parts of the hands and feet, both kneecaps, and the right humerus were missing from the body. Cranium was intact.
